Disclosure: I was provided a free trial program and a discount on the Jenny Craig meals. However, the opinions and writing are entirely my own. Members following the Jenny Craig program, on average, lose 1-2 lbs per week.
As of my weigh in this morning, I am down -25.4 lbs with Jenny Craig!
Now that I feel I have my nutrition on point, I am focusing on getting more active. My Jenny Craig consultant tells me I’m right on track because this is the part of the program where she really encourages her clients to work on upping their exercise efforts.
Jenny Craig’s Updated Menu Items
At the beginning of this month, Jenny Craig introduced some new menu items. I think it’s great that they do this because one of the greatest things about the Jenny menu is the variety. By changing things up every once in awhile, it keeps the diet plan from getting stale.
Here are two of my favorite new additions:
Chicken Pesto Pasta – 280 calories
Jenny Craig in the news
I was really excited to see Jenny Craig in the news recently for being recognized as one of THE best commercial weight loss programs out there. The scientific study (published in the Annals of Internal Medicine) recognized Jenny as a highly effective and sustainable weight loss program. This is very encouraging for those of us on our Jenny Journeys!
For me, this is so important because I know what it’s like to have tried other plans – and drop the weight quickly (in an unhealthy fashion), only to gain some of it back because of the un-sustainability of the program. I am so sick of the weight roller coaster I’ve been on the last couple of years!
Jenny Craig teaches you lifestyle changes that are completely doable once you have dedicated yourself to healthy living. Portion control, moderation, hydration, activity… these are just a few. Yes, my weight loss on Jenny Craig has been much slower but It’s also much easier. I’m truly enjoying the process and know that I am doing this the healthy way!
Making the Switch from UP by Jawbone to FitBit!
Through my husband’s employer and their amazing health program, Vitality, I’m now using the FitBit CHARGE HR. I LOVE that it includes heart rate monitoring, so I don’t have to bust out my Polar and chest strap every time I want to clock my calorie burn per workout. Plus, the interface and data reports are super nice and I’m really enjoying joining in on the community and forums — not to mention the gamification aspect of earning badges for your fitness accomplishments. It’s fun!
Are you a FitBit user? Connect with me here. I’m always looking for accountability buddies so we can push each other and celebrate our triumphs. The secret to success is support!
