Hey guys! I know a lot of you have really liked my blog post about “How to Make an Awesome Weight Loss Binder” – so today, I wanted to share with you what my new binder looks like and a few more tips to get you organized while on your weight loss journey.
I love my new binder! It’s bright, it’s fun to look at, and best of all – it’s ORGANIZED.
I picked up this binder and these awesomely designed and colorful tabs at my local Target. Yes – I am OBSESSED with the office supply isle at Target, so it was easy finding something I liked. This is all part of the process and you should enjoy it. Find the perfect binder that fits your personality. It may seem silly now but trust me, it helps.
My Weekly Meal Planner – Preparation is KEY to Weight Loss
This is what my weekly meal planner looks like. It may look really simple but it’s very important!
Sundays are sacred in my house. Literally, they are known as Meal Planning Sundays. It’s the day my husband and I go grocery shopping and I meal prep for the week. So how this works is I come up with what I’d like to cook through out the week to make sure I’ve got my bases covered for a well thought out, calorie counted meal. Plus, it allows me to see when I’ll have left overs to take with me to work, etc.
I recommend pulling your recipes and planning your weekly foods before you go to the grocery store so you can get all of your ingredients. Also, make sure to get enough fresh produce to last you the whole week so you don’t have to make a trip to the grocery store mid-week to refill your fruits and vegetable supply.

Whatever diet plan or healthier Guidelines you are following, write them down or type them up, put them on paper and add them to your weight loss binder.
Read through these daily until they become second nature. Remember, that you are learning a new healthy lifestyle for long term weight loss, maintenance, and weight control. The things you will learn on your weight loss journey will last you a lifetime.
The next tab I’ve got is my Food Diary section.
This is where I write down everything I eat during the day. I break it up by breakfast, mid-AM snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner.
I also highly recommend the app, My Fitness Pal, to track your food, portion sizes, calories, and macros. Further reading… How To Count Your Macros (A Comprehensive Guide) but MFP will do it for you.
One of my favorite binder sections are my Recipes!
Find healthy, delicious recipes online and print them out. Add them to this section so you’ll have it ready to go during meal planning. I love cooking and through out this weight loss process, I love that I’m learning how to nourish myself the right way. Have fun in the kitchen! Remember, this is YOUR weight loss binder. Create it in whatever way makes the most sense for you.
Other sections, you can add are: inspiration, weigh in tracking, listing your goals, food journaling – write about your experiences every day along your journey, etc.
